We are recruiting the following positions

Full Time
ECS/JIB Gold Card Electrician

Avatar Electrical Ltd are commercial and industrial electrical contractors based on the border of London and Essex, and we are looking for a Full Time Permanent ECS/JIB Gold Card Electrician to join our field-based staff.
You will be expected to work mainly within the Greater London area, although some Home Counties work will be required. You will be expected to travel so a full driving license is an essential requirement.
You will be expected to provide a comprehensive service supporting the delivery of products and services to our customer base. To achieve this the following will be expected of the successful candidate:
  • Compliance with Health and Safety and Company Policy.
  • Maintenance and installation of electrical systems and associated disciplines.

FULL TIME - PERMANENT
Hourly rate as graded by JIB and experience
Normal Hours Monday to Friday 07:30-16:30
Occasional weekend working by arrangement with our clients
Out of Hours Response Team roster
23 days holiday + bank holidays

Summary of the role

Reactive and planned electrical maintenance within the Greater London area.
Candidate must have suitable experience and knowledge of these areas and be used to working on more than one site a day. Driving from site to site is required to attend for scheduled and/or reactive works.
Carrying out various electrical maintenance works including testing and certification on completion. Completing and submitting all electronic paperwork as required by the task using supplied device.
Attending sites as a lone worker and/or with other engineers as required.

Requirements

Full Drivers licence, ideally clean.
Minimum of 3 years experience working as a qualified electrician
ECS Gold Card as an Installation Electrician (this an absolute requirement)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations certificate.
Ideally 2391 Inspection & Testing or 2394/2395 equivalent
Excellent communication, and behavioural skills with good presentation
(Candidate will be required to liaise with end users, clients, security, building managers, and clients staff as appropriate).
You must have a desire to learn and take constructive feedback to ensure the best result is always achieved for the client.
Excellent time-keeping and communication with staff on a daily basis including personal time management.
A desire to part of and benefit to the company, and to be part of a team.
You must be able to embrace technology - from using IOS devices with our job management software to programming electrical devices to operate correctly (training will be supplied as required). Efficient communication using email and other electronic methods is extremely important.
The successful candidate is expected to bring an energy to the role with ideas and enthusiasm to their daily tasks.

Electrical Improver/Trainee

You will be expected to work mainly within the Greater London area, although some Home Counties work will be required. You will be expected to travel so a full driving license is an essential requirement.
You will be expected to provide a comprehensive service supporting the delivery of products and services to our customer base. To achieve this the following will be expected of the successful candidate:
  • To develop from the Trainee Electrician role to a Qualified and Competent Electrician.
  • Completion of the relevant college and course work.
  • Compliance with Health and Safety and Company Policy.
  • Maintenance and installation of electrical systems and associated disciplines.
  • Don't think you know it all
  • Do the jobs you say you have the experience for
As part of your ongoing development we would expect the following within achievable targets:
  • Learn to be the best (trainee) electrician you can be (we will help you).
  • Do the jobs you have been trained to do
Skills/Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, good work attitude with a can-do outlook, troubleshooting, problem solving, wanting to and being able to ask "Why...".

Please Note The Following Conditions:
This is NOT an apprentice role – we can only consider candidates who already have experience and relevant qualifications. Minimum level is NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and TWO years practical experience. As part of the interview process you agree to undertake a written test and a practical assessment. You must be able to drive and have a full clean driving license. For insurance reasons you must be at least 21 to drive the company vehicles.
